Richard "Dick" D. Eaton, age 79, of Cameron (formerly of Eau Claire) died on Friday, October 23, 2015 at his home.

Richard was born on March 16, 1936 to the late Maurice and Evelyn (Geissler) Eaton in Eau Claire. He graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1954 and later married Elizabeth Staake. Dick proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force and later retired after 20 years of service with the Air Force Reserves. He worked at the U.S. Postal Service as a Mail Carrier for many years. Dick was a football player during his high school years and was a member of the All Northwest All Star Team and received the honorable mention All State award in 1953. Dick served as a coach for several Little League and All Star Baseball teams. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and supporting the Green Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. Go Pack! Go Bucky!

Dick is survived by his sons, Timothy B. Eaton of Indian Wells, CA and Terry L. (Gayle) Eaton of Wesley Chapel, FL; granddaughters, Tiffany of FL and Grace of CA; great grandchildren, Grace and Geoffrey; sister, Mary Erpenbach; brothers, Tom, Michael and Pat all of Eau Claire; many nieces, nephews, and other family members; also survived by his lifelong friend, Lynn Bjork and her children, Krissy, Kyle and Steve; also my man Stretch "Austin".

He was preceded in death by his former wife, Elizabeth, and infant brother, Jimmy.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
