Clarence H. Williams, age 83, of Eau Claire passed away on Saturday October 15, 2011 at Crystal Lake Manor in Strum with his family at his side.

Clarence was born on October 1, 1928 to the late Fred and Hazel (Hummer) Williams in Eau Claire. He graduated from Eau Claire High School with the class of 1948. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On December 31, 1954, Clarence married Virginia VanWyke at First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. For over 30 years, he worked for Pope and Talbot. He was member of Hope Lutheran Church and VFW Post 305 and a legionaire of the Moose Lodge. Clarence enjoyed rock picking, taking the road less traveled and serving the public as a part-time plumber. He will be greatly missed by his family.

He is survived by a son, John F. (Marcia) Williams of Barron; daughter, Debbie VanWyke of Eau Claire; grandsons, Jason Christopher of Peshtigo, WI and Johnathan Hoff of Appleton, WI; sisters, Gladys Potter of Osseo and Arlene (Robert) Bogstad of Mondovi; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Ginnie; sister, Marie; brother, Fred; and brother-in-law, Chuck Potter.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
