Raven A. Marchetti, age 59, of Augusta died suddenly on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at her home.

Raven was born on 24 November, 1953 in Rochester, MN, to the late Gwendolyn Joan (Doyle) and Anthony John Marchetti.

Raven was an authentic, extraordinary woman. She was an artful gardener; she created Sacred spaces for people to rest and find solace. Stargazen Women's Retreat was her masterpiece. Gardens touched by whimsy and Heart.

She loved music. . . classical, rock, jazz, ethnic and spiritual. She'd hum the melodies in her sweet, clear voice and blush when she found someone listening.

Our Raven was a "Gardener of Souls." The young, the old, the sad, the lost, the seeking. Caring for people was in every fiber of her Being. She Loved. She was a Mender of Hearts and Restorer of Dreams. Her compassion, her profound wisdom, her quiet, poignant attention, uplifted those who felt broken and discouraged.

She gathered people like a child collects precious shells on the beach.  She loved her "Circles": The Wild Woman Artisans Guild; her beloved Bushwhackers; her Ladies of Ludington; her Community Health Partnership and her Luther-Mayo co-workers; her myriad friends from a Life filled with Grace and Camaraderie.

She was intuitive and perceptive. She listened with an open Spirit and responded with gentleness.

She was REALLY funny! Not a joke-teller, but a quick, sophisticated wit. Classy and sassy.

Her Family was her most treasured gift. Her children, Marisa, Brandon, Colette, Kellen and Keira sparked the twinkle in her eyes and the lilt in her voice.  She adored each one of them, and nurtured their individual talents.

Her greatest joy was the birth of her first grandchild, Liam Mackinley Barrett.  She couldn't wait to teach him how to dig in the dirt and find fairies in the woods.

Her charm and elegance were captivating. Once you met her, you never forgot her. She was a gorgeous, beautiful Soul, who radiated kindness.

We miss her Dearly. . .

Raven is survived by her True Love, Dianne Belisle; her five children, Marisa Barrett and her partner, Sam Ogren, Brandon Belisle-Lamoureux, Colette Belisle and her partner, Alex Mercier-Dalphond, Kellen Belisle-Lamoureux, Keira Belisle-Lamoureux; her grandchild, Liam Mackinley Barrett; her sister, Robin Marchetti (Jason and Collin); her mother- and father-in-law, Sandi and Doyle Belisle, Dianne's siblings and their spouses; her former husband, Terry Barrett; her aunts and uncles, Joseph and Mary Jo Doyle and family, Sherrie and Gary Frisinger and family, Roland Marchetti and family; the extended Doyle, Marchetti, Belisle, and Barrett families; her four-legged family, Neige-wah, Atookwa, and Mukwah; and her many loving friends.

Raven was preceded in death by her grandmother, Edith Doyle; her step-father, Fred Hancock; daughter-in-law, Kara Hoeck; and several beloved members of the Doyle and Marchetti families.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
