Marian A. Duesterbeck, age 81, of Eau Claire, went to be with her Savior on Tuesday, February 14, 2012.

The former Marian Alice Gibson was born September 16, 1930 in Eau Claire to the late Guy and Rhoda (Lee) Gibson. Marian taught at Holy Rosary School in Lima, Arkansaw Elementary School in Arkansaw and substituted at Caddie Woodlawn Elementary School in Durand. She married Richard M. Duesterbeck on August 12, 1950. Marian and Richard were charter members of Faith Lutheran Church in Durand and enjoyed spending winders in Arizona following their retirements from teaching.

Marian was a loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Marie (Ronald) Stadler and son, William Duesterbeck, both of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Erik Stadler of Eau Claire and Laura Stadler of San Francisco; brothers, Sam (Donna) Gibson of North St. Paul and Dan (Diane) Gibson of Eau Claire; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; and brothers, Robert and Tom.

As per her wishes, Marian is being cremated.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
