Dale enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in December 1942. He served his country in the Burma, China and India Theatre during WWII till March of 1946. Dale married Esther Nelson on February 18, 1943 in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Dale worked at various jobs after the war and last as a USDA Federal Meat Inspector in Eau Claire and Medford. After retiring, Dale and Esther built a house in rural Chetek, then spent fifteen years wintering in Apache Junction, AZ. They traveled and enjoyed their winter life with friends in the Rock Shadows RV Park. Many trips were taken out west, visiting friends and relatives.

Dale was a super dad, grandfather and great grandfather. He was always there to help his kids when needed. He remembered birthdays for everyone. Dad loved to eat at many local restaurants.

He is survived by his children; Linda (Larry) Kolbrak of Chippewa Falls, Greg (Donna) Lampman of Eleva and Donna Ress of Eau Claire; grandchildren; Jonathan (Christa) Kolbrak, Emma (Nathan) Maas, Heather (Tony) McDonald, Heath (Carrie) Lampman and Nicolle (Kyle) Forbush; eight great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is also survived by a special friend, Patricia Scavo, of Michigan and her children, Lynn, Lauren and Larry.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther; infant son, Jeffrey; brothers, Gaylord and Charles Lampman; and sister, Floy Tullis.

A special thanks to Mayo Clinic Home Health and Hospice and Visiting Angels (Joy) for their care of Dale.
