Gregory M. Gunderson, age 59, formerly of Eau Claire died on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 in Deephaven, MN after a nine year struggle with Alzheimer's disease.

Greg was born on August 2, 1958 to Gary and Patricia (Johnson) Gunderson in Eau Claire. In 1976, he graduated from North High School. He attended the University of Minnesota where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiology. Greg went on to further his education and became a registered nurse. He dedicated his life to helping and caring for others at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park. Greg loved the outdoors - he loved hunting, fishing, golfing, biking, NASCAR, and the Minnesota Twins.

Greg will be remembered that he lived life to the fullest and his wit and sense humor will remain with us always.

He is survived by his mother, Pat; life-long partner (and our guardian angel) Debbie Benson; sister, Pam (Terry) Bechel; brother, Eric (Barbara); nieces, Erin (Jason) Kienbaum, Ellen (Mark Vohl) Bechel, Alyssa and Megan Gunderson; great niece, Olive Gunderson; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Greg was preceded in death by his father, Gary; grandparents, Adeline and Erling Gunderson and Ruth and Glen Johnson.

We would like to thank the staff of Deephaven Woods Assisted Living and Brighton Hospice for their care and comfort they provided to Greg.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
