PATTEN, LeRoy S., age 74

Died: Saturday, October 11th, 2014

Memorial Service: 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the funeral home with Reverend Rick Lund officiating
Family will receive friends two hours prior to the service

Interment: Bohemian National Cemetery, Town of Arthur, Wisconsin at a later date

 

LeRoy S. Patten, age 74, of Eau Claire, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire.

LeRoy was born on June 10, 1940 to the late David and Helen (Svoma) Patten in Cornell, Wisconsin. On June 17, 1967, he married Jean Brian in Strum. Leroy worked various jobs at Presto, Imperial Clevite, Western Dairyland, and others. 

Over the years, he was active in the Channel 8 CB Club, Kinship, Chippewa Valley Antique Engine & Model Club and Hallie Optimist Club. He especially enjoyed helping with youth activities, fishing, engines, and Packers football. Leroy was a member of Hope Lutheran Church.

LeRoy is survived by his wife of over 47 years, Jean; daughters, Lisa (Tim) Swoboda and Mary Lantz (special friend, Bryce Ksobiech); son, Alex (Michelle) Patten; granddaughters, Amanda Patten-Swoboda (special friend, Jeremiah Kirkham), Katlin and Kayla Slifer, Christine and Rachel Swoboda; great grandsons, Ryan and Cooper; brother-in-law, Jim (Irene) Ludwigson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edwin (Korean War MIA), David and Lyle Patten; and sisters, Geraldine Ludwigson and Rose Patten.
