Robert "Bob" W. Hagen, age 78, of Eau Claire passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Eau Claire.

Bob was born on April 3, 1936 to the late Roy and Ethel (Mulvaney) Hagen in Eau Claire. He grew up on a farm near Osseo and graduated from Lincoln Hill High in 1955. Following high school, he worked at Johnny Rongstad's Standard Oil Gas Station in Osseo.

Enlisting in 1957, he proudly served our country in the U.S. Army being stationed in Germany. On August 12, 1961, he married Alvina M. Peterson in Colfax. Shortly thereafter, he was reactivated in the U.S. Army Reserves during the 1961 Cuban Missile Crisis. When Bob returned home, he worked for Hagen Decorators, Uniroyal, and retired as manager of the Eau Claire Self Storage Warehouses.

Bob loved spending time with his family camping, fishing, hunting, pontooning, going to Friday Night Fish Fry's and church lutefisk/meatball suppers, stopping at Casinos, and traveling with friends. Through the years he was a member of various golf and church dart ball leagues. Spending mornings with the Panera Coffee Clan and sharing stories with his Mayo Cardiac Rehab friends was very special to him.

He loved to attend his grandchildren's school activities and events and was so proud of each of them. Bob was truly a people person and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Alvina; son, Michael (Julene); daughter, Kayleen (Bryan) Myren; grandchildren, Kalen, Kacia, and Kyler Hagen, Brittany and Karley Myren; brothers and sisters, Roy James "Jim" (Ardyce), Patricia (Eldon) Martenson, John (Margaret), Eljean (Richard) Puent, Margaret (Odel "Squirt" Hirschfield) Hagen; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Francis Hagen, Sally Hagen, Clifford (Anita) Peterson, Mildred Herman, Linda (Ed) Heiman; special niece, Jackie (Jeff) Fishman; many beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his sister and brothers, Verda (Marv) Johnson, Lyman Hagen, and Ronald Hagen; and sister-in-law, Mavis (George) Matchey.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
