Margaret Grace Twait, age 78, of Eau Claire, WI died on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.

She was born on August 13, 1940 to the late Dale and Leatrice (Christensen) Hodson. She spent her childhood years in rural northern Iowa graduating from Adams High School, Adams, MN in 1958. Margaret met the love of her life, James Twait in Adams, MN where she was a waitress and he was a teacher. On January 27, 1962 they were united in marriage. Their life together took them to various locations throughout Minnesota while raising their family. They lived in Adams, Glencoe, Cannon Falls, Hibbing, St. Peter and Alexandria. They retired to Eau Claire in 2005. Margaret also had a varied work history that included Woolworths, Ace Hardware and most recently, a pharmacy technician for WalMart.

Margaret enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, putting together puzzles, watching old movies and traveling with her "partner in crime", her sister, Sharon. Margaret and Jim loved going to the Casino, even winning a car on one visit. She was an avid armchair bird watcher, keeping annual tallies of her feathered visitors. Her favorite activity was spending time with family, which kept a smile on her face and good meals on the table.

She is survived by her husband, James; children, Susan (David) Greenlee of Rochester, MN, David (Carole) Twait of St. Peter, MN and Tom Twait (Sylvia Henry) of Eau Claire; her dearly loved grandchildren, Jeremy Lanars, Chris (Sierra) Lanars, Rachel Twait, Adam (Kennedy) Twait, Alex Twait and Andrew Twait. She was privileged to welcome into her heart great-grandchildren, Gerald and Jack (age 7), Ellis (age 2), Delta (11 months) and baby Noah James, born just hours after her death. Margaret is also survived her niece, nephew, other relatives and many dear friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Hodson.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
