Orville P. Green, age 85, of Cleghorn, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011 at Our House Senior Memory Care in Eau Claire.

Orville was born on July 6, 1926 to the late Jesse and Mabel (Plomedahl) Green in Cleghorn, Wisconsin. He proudly served our country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On April 25, 1951, Orville married Arlene Zich at St. James Trinity Lutheran Church. He was an active member of the Brackett American Legion Post #550. Orville loved farming his whole life. He enjoyed being an avid Packers fan, watching baseball games, spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play softball. Orville will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Arlene; daughter, Debbie (Denny) Bodoh of Menomonie, sons, Bruce (Jeanne) Green of Eau Claire and Terry Green of Cleghorn; grandchildren, Heidi (John) Myers, Kristi (Travis) Roos, KariJo Green, Chelsie (Ryan) Swenson, Harrison Green, Kyle (Jamie-friend) Green, and Melissa Green; sister, Jane (Rex) Holbrook; sisters-in-law, Alma Zich, Deloris Sommerfeldt and Myrtle Green; many nephews, nieces, other family and friends.

Orville was preceded in death by his brother, Orin Green; brothers-in-law, Irvin Zich, Norman Zich, Elgert Sommerfeldt; and niece, Bonnie Welke.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Our House, the fine folks of the Mayo Clinic Health Systems Hospice, and the supportive people of Community Health Partnership who helped in so many ways.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
