Orland L. Staves, age 70, of Clam Lake, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at UW Hospital and Clinics in Madison, Wisconsin.

Orland was born on October 26, 1947 to the late George and Mildred (Schlichter) Staves in Black River Falls, WI. He was raised in Humbird, WI where he attended elementary school and graduated from Alma Center High School. Following his graduation from the CVTC in Eau Claire, he was an apprentice for 3 years at FMC in Minnesota to earn his Journeyman Machinist certificate. He returned to Chippewa Falls, WI working 25 years at Extrusion Dies before he co-founded Allied Dies in 2001.

On April 19, 1969, he married Peggy Janke at Fairview Catholic Church outside of Humbird. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed everything about being in nature; boating, fishing, trapping, hunting, and just exploring. He loved passing on his passion to his grandchildren teaching them how to hunt and fish.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy; son, Todd (Jennifer); daughter, Jodie (Trevor) Malicki; grandchildren, Nicholas (Anitra), Nathan (fiancé Marissa) and Brennon Staves, Cody and Tori Benz; great granddaughter, Dazie Benz; sisters, Diane (Phil) Gryczkowski, Peggy Casper (Dennis), and Anita (Jake) Johnson; step-father, Virgil Hill; many other family members and friends.

Orland was preceded in death by parents; brothers, Dale and Jim.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
