KABUS, Clarence J., age 90

Died: Monday, June 25th, 2018

Memorial Service: 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Schmidt officiating

Visitation: family will receive friends one hour prior to service

Interment: Arcadia Public Cemetery, Arcadia, WI

 

Clarence J. Kabus, age 90, of Chippewa Falls, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, June 25, 2018 at Oakwood Villa in Altoona.

Clarence was born on March 3, 1928 to the late Peter and Sophia (Kupka) Kabus in Independence, WI. On September 10, 1952, Clarence married the love of his life, Lucieda Heath, at the Baptist Parsonage in Eau Claire.

Clarence was a hardworking man throughout his life. He was raised on the farm and continued to farm after he and Lucieda were married. Over the years he also worked with the Broco Tye Company in Independence, Farm Supply in Eau Claire, Equity Livestock Barn in Eau Claire, Martin Transport in Mondovi, and then with Silver Springs in Eau Claire.

He enjoyed collecting and wood working. Being the patriarch of the Kabus clan, Clarence especially enjoyed spending time with family and traveling with his siblings. He was great man and a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed.

Clarence is survived by his sons, Jerome (Patty) Kabus of Balsam Lake, WI and Thomas Kabus of Belle Plaine, MN; daughters, Nancy (Steve) Dunder of Barron and Lucie (Tom) Eckhoff of Chetek; 9 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; brothers, Allie (Bonnie) Kabus of Independence and Paul (Mary) Kabus of Willard, WI; sisters, Theresa Fink of Prescott, AZ and Angie (Bernie) Mish of New Hampshire, IL; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and long-time friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Lucieda; daughter, Martha Kabus; and brother-in-law, Clifford Fink.
