Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Hope Lutheran Church (on the corner of Starr Avenue and Eddy Lane) with Reverend Rick Lund officiating

Visitation: one hour prior to service at church

Interment: Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake, Wisconsin

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials to Hope Lutheran Church

Sybil I. Martin, age 88, of Eau Claire passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Milestone Assisted Living in Eau Claire with her family by her side.

Sybil was born on January 9, 1927 to the late Edward and Josie A. (Horsager) Bjorgum in Clear Lake, Wisconsin. On September 14, 1947, she married Leland Martin at the Chapel in Clear Lake. During her younger years she was active in the PTA and held the office of president. She was a long time member of Hope Lutheran Church serving on many committees, teaching Sunday school, participating in the quilters group, Ladies Aide, and the Rebecca Circle. Sybil enjoyed being with her family and having coffee with her many friends.

She is survived by her children, Ronald (Julie) of Somerset, WI, and Karen (James) Hauck of Eau Claire; daughter-in-law, Julia Martin of Osceola; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Crystal (Alvie) Wood of Houlton, WI; sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Sybil was preceded in death by her husband, Leland; sons, Daniel and John; daughter, Mary Kay; and brother, Duane (Rita) Bjorgum.
