Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Father William Dhein officiating

Robert R. Poppe, age 83, went to his heavenly home with his loving family surrounding him on Monday, February 6, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Eau Claire.

Robert was born on December 3, 1928 to the late Clarence and Florence (Kenney) Poppe in Withee, Wisconsin. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict: receiving the Solders Medal, Bronze Star, and Korean Service Medal. On April 7, 1956, Robert married Joanne BaDour at St. James Catholic Church. Robert's profession was a meat cutter by trade. He loved to spend his free time fishing, bowling and being with his family who will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joanne; children, Mark (Laura) of Eau Claire, David (Christy) of Rice Lake, Ann Poppe of Eau Claire, Susan Poppe of Eau Claire, and Paul (Melissa) of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Julie, Timothy, Mitchell, Joseph, Curtis, Breeanna, Johnathon, Nicholas and Audra; great grandsons, Collin and Wyatt; great granddaughter, Tessa; sister, Marliene (William) Schildt; brother, Charles (Michael) Poppe; many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen; brothers, Henry, James, Clarence, and Jerome; and many brothers- and sisters-in-law.
