Manville "Manny" A. Hoeft, age 89, of Elk Mound passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Cambridge Senior Living in Eau Claire. 

Manny was born on August 24, 1936, to the late Arthur and Alice (Berndt) Hoeft in Great Bend, North Dakota. He grew up in North Dakota with his sister, Delores. He graduated from Wahpeton High School.

After graduation, Manny served in the U.S. Army. After a brief deployment in Germany, he attended the North Dakota State School of Science. Following graduation, he moved to St. Paul, Minnesota and started his working career as a Mechanical Drafter with Sperry Univac. It was there that he met his beloved wife, Sandi.

On October 5, 1963, he married Sandra J. Olson in Menomonie, Wisconsin. Together, they shared 56 years of marriage. Soon after their wedding they moved to White Bear Lake, Minnesota. There they built a home and started their family. They grew close with their neighbors who became lifelong friends. After a few years, they moved back to the Chippewa Valley settling in Elk Mound, Wisconsin where he joined his brother-in-law as an electrician and business partner. Later he would work at Cray Research as a Mechanical CAD Designer.  

Manny's life was defined by service: to his country, to his community, and to his family. Patient, kind, and steady Manny made a lasting impression on those around him.  

Manny devoted himself to raising his four children and creating a lifetime of cherished memories with them. He loved sports; especially baseball, auto racing, and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings. With his daughters, he encouraged a love of swimming, dance, softball, and cheerleading; with his sons, he shared his passion for baseball and football. Whether in the stands or playing catch in the yard, Manny was always present, never missing an event. Summers were spent making memories in North Dakota, and winters were enjoyed in Gulf Shores, Alabama, traditions still fondly remembered at every family gathering.

That same love and devotion continued as Manny and Sandi watched their grandchildren grow. Together, they delighted in attending recitals, games, and school programs, treasuring every opportunity to be part of their lives. 

He is survived by his children, Kimberlee (William) Thiede of Eau Claire, Kelley Hoeft of Hudson, Matthew Hoeft (Olga) of Elk Mound, and Joshua (Josie) Hoeft of Elk Mound; grandchildren, Krisha (Justin) Diers, Eric Thiede, Daniel (Emily) Thiede, Lucas (Hailey) Miller, Aaron Zelenak, Will Zelenak, Blake Hoeft, Emma Hoeft, Sophie Hoeft, Illia Kalmykov, Brody Salzman, and Abram Hoeft; great grandchildren, Brynlee and Asher Diers, Wren Theide, Cam and Sutton Miller; sisters-in-law, Connie (Dan) Vradenburg and Patti Lindlan; many nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. 

Manny was preceded in death by his wife, Sandi; his parents; sister, Delores (Harold) Bellin; father and mother-in-law, Willis and Elaine Olson; brothers-in-law, Mike Duffy and Kenny Olson; and niece, Leah Olson.
