WENDT, Margie A., age 90

Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Lakeview Cemetery Columbarium in Eau Claire with Father Tom Krieg officiating

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials be given to St. James Catholic Church in memory of Margie.

 

Margie Ann Wendt, age 90, of Eau Claire, WI died Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Orchard Hills Assisted Living under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice.

Margie was born on January 10, 1931 in Eau Claire to the late Percy and Catherine (Vandenboom) Miller. Margie grew up in Eau Claire and graduated from St. Patrick's High School. She met her husband, Kenneth Wendt, and was married on June 9, 1951.

Margie enjoyed being a housewife and mother to her three children. Together the family enjoyed camping, fishing, going to fairs, and working in the garden at home. Margie was a hostess for Heckel's Big Steer and the Left Guard restaurants in Eau Claire as well as a receptionist in the Pathology Department of Luther Hospital. She and her husband enjoyed roller skating, playing cards, dancing, and going for rides in their collector cars. Margie was a member of the Women of the Moose, Chapter 557, in Eau Claire since 1987.

Margie is survived by her sons, Ronald Wendt (Nancy) of Eau Claire and Gary Wendt (Jeanne Candell) of Onalaska, WI; daughter, Katherine (Brian) Spangberg of Eau Claire; grandsons, Adam Wendt (Alyssa Stinson) of Columbus, MN and Garrett (Chelsea) Vorce of Eau Claire; sister, Florence (Gerald) Olson of Eau Claire; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L. Wendt; sisters, Catherine (A. Sylvester) Gullickson and Patricia (Gordon) Heckel; brothers, Col. Bernard (Vernette) Miller and Willis Miller; son-in-law, Gary Vorce.
