Irene G. Smith, age 95, of Eau Claire, died on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Irene was born on October 14, 1925 to the late Christian and Borghild (Paulson) Thompson in Minneapolis, MN. She graduated from Edison High School. On September 29, 1945, she married Gordon Smith in Minneapolis.

She is survived by her sons, Dan (Trudy) and Douglas (Sue); daughters, Gail Severson and Debora Smith; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Lucille Hunter; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; grandson, Neill Smith; sister, Esther (Richard) Kelsey; and brothers-in-law, John Hunter and Glen (Fern) Smith.
