Robert Vaughn Barron Jr., 87 years of age, formerly of Cedar Falls, and Kansas City, died on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at his home in Birchwood, Wisconsin. Bob was born Dec. 1, 1923, in Dolomite, Ala., to the late Robert and Opal Barron. At the age of 17, Bob entered the U.S. Navy after graduating from high school. He served in the U.S. Navy as a corpsman in the Pacific Fleet during and after World War II from 1940 to 1947. Bob spent the majority of his work life (over 35 years) in the automobile dealership industry in a variety of positions to include finance manager, salesman, sales manager and leasing manager. He consistently distinguished himself as a "Top Sales Producer" regularly recognized by the Chevrolet Division of General Motors. Bob loved to fish and especially to hunt quail with his work colleagues. He was an avid chef who loved to cook and travel. He is survived by his children, Richard, James, Deborah, Susan and Jean; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Laughlin. Bob was preceded in death by his son, Clark; and wives, Margaret and Joy. |
