Glenn H. Anderson, age 87, of Eau Claire died on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Dove Healthcare-South in Eau Claire.

Glenn was born on February 6, 1924 to the late Hildum and Martha (Hedman) Anderson in Eveleth, Minnesota. He attended the Eveleth schools and graduated from Eveleth High School in 1942. He played in the high school band, the city band, and the VFW Clown band. He also played football and hockey. In 1949, he graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BBA degree and in 1952 received his M.A. degree in Hospital and Clinic Administration from the University of Iowa. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946 with service in New Guinea and the Philippine Islands attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.

For 31 years he served as Administrator for Midelfort Clinic, retiring in 1983. Glenn was previously employed with the Sheboygan Clinic, Minnesota State Employment Service, and the Oliver Mining Company. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for 47 years having served as a member and chairman of the Board of Trustees. Glenn also was a member of the Noon Exchange Club, Chippewa Valley Personnel Assn., Wisconsin Clinic Managers Assn., Medical Group Management Assn., Medical Group Management Consulting Service, VFW, the Disabled American Veterans and the Public Affairs Council of Eau Claire County. He was founder of the Wisconsin Clinic Personnel Management Assn. and the Wisconsin Clinic Credit Managers Assn.

He is survived by his wife, Joan (DuBois); children, Shelley (Eugene) Johnson of Menomonie, Mark (Lori) Anderson of Altoona, Suzanne Anderson of Altoona; grandchildren, Rhiannon (Adam) Riley & Jackson Anderson; great grandchildren, Liam, Maya and Ailis Riley; brother, Marshall (Marcia) Anderson of Deerwood, MN; sister, Renee Burleigh of Waverly, OH; nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Genevieve Lung.
