Humor someone today…Jerry would've!

Jerald "Jerry" E. Miller, age 84, of Eau Claire, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Heritage Court.

Jerry was born on September 1, 1928 to the late Lester & Jeraldine (Kinberg) Miller in Eau Claire. Jerry spent his childhood in Eau Claire graduating from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1946.  On July 29, 1950, he married Betty L. Milward in Stillwater, MN. He worked at the Whirl Roller Rink in Eau Claire until drafted into the Army in 1951 serving in a Tank Division during the Korean Conflict and later as an MP while stationed at Camp Polk in Louisiana.

After completing his Army tour, he returned to Eau Claire and worked for Uniroyal Tire Company for 38 years.  During his time at Uniroyal, he took charge of the infamous Coffee Fund that afforded his fellow tire-makers many social gatherings at Sherwood Inn. He also loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. In 1978, he and Betty purchased Twin Isles Trailer Court on Island Lake in Weyerhaeuser, WI. from Betty's parents and operated it until 2006. Jerry loved people, was superbly witty, and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed playing cards and games, and was well known for his annual "Pig Roast" at the lake. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew him!
