![]() Barbara June (Simpson) Wiley, age 80, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice and her family. Barb was born to the late Dale and Mable (Carrie) Simpson on July 4, 1931 on a family farm in St. James, MN. Barb graduated from St. James High School in 1949. After graduation, she worked for the St. James Telephone Company. On February 9, 1952, Barb married Norman G. Wiley. Together they had three children, Mark, Cyndie, and Kim. Barb always put her children first, teaching them cooking, canning, sewing, and many life lessons. As a single parent, Barb successfully raised her three children while completing cosmetology school. Upon graduation, Barb went to work at Westgate Beauty Salon for 31 years. After her children left home, Barb knew her mothering days were not over; so she opened up her home and heart and became an adult foster care provider for 19 years, loving every moment. Barb joined Lake Street United Methodist Church in 1963 where she started and taught special needs children Sunday School. Barb is survived by her children, Mark (Marty Pena) of El Monte, CA, Cyndie (Richard) Bush of Eau Claire, and Kim (John) Federiuk of St. Cloud, MN; grandchildren, Amber (Armondo) Moran, Norelle Wiley, Brandon (Ashley) Wiley, Andy (Nikki) Bush, Rikki (Joe) Mortl, Isaac (Naomi) Federiuk, Joshua (Kayla) Federiuk, and Gates Federiuk; five great grandchildren; sister, Marlene Simpson of NV; stepmother, Olivia Simpson of MN; and stepbrothers, Bud, Merle, and Laverne Johnson of MN. The family would like to give a special thanks to St. Joseph's Hospice, her nurse, Charlotte, and her wonderful friends and neighbors. |
