On Thursday, April 9, 2026, Candace P. Larsen of Altoona, WI passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and loved ones.

She was born to the late Martin A. and Mary C. (Dwyer) Walsh on October 21, 1952, in Red Wing, Minnesota where she attended Central High School graduating in 1970 and went on to earn her bachelor's degree from St. Mary's University. Throughout her career she dedicated many years of hard work and commitment; spending 20 years at Meyer Industries and then 31 years with the Koozie Group until she retired from full time work in 2021, but continued working part time from home. In 2009, she married the love of her life, Lanny G. Larsen from Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Lanny and Candace lived in Hager City, Wisconsin until they purchased their retirement home on Smith Lake in Hayward, Wisconsin in 2018. She spent her time looking out over the lake with a glass of wine, playing Dominoes, cruising on the pontoon, visiting the winery and enjoying her quiet life with family and loved ones.

Candace was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, sister and grandmother. She found her greatest joy in her family with her loving husband, Lanny. Together they dearly loved five boys full of strength and humor: John Galle (Laurie Holm) of Hager City, Andy (Stacey) Galle of Ellsworth, WI, Collin (Betsy) Holton of Ellsworth, Josh (Kira) Larsen of Marshfield, WI, and Aaron (Jackie) Larsen of Eau Claire. She was also a proud grandmother to Bridget, Michael, Isaac, Jonathon, Gavin, Lilah, Jett, Bella and great grandmother to Brynlee. She is also remembered and loved by her siblings, Bill (Ruth Ann) Walsh of San Diego, CA, Ken (Nani) Walsh of Red Wing, and Bob (Mel) Walsh of Red Wing; multiple nieces and nephews; as well as her dear friends who always stood by her side, Deb Creaser Kipp and Barb Holton-Moy.

Candace had a love for life's simple pleasures which included: Girls Weekend, sitting around campfires, traveling, taking trips around the lake on the pontoon, watching John Wayne movies, visiting her favorite winery and relaxing with her family taking it all in. Known for her sharp wit and sense of humor, she was also an avid lover of Excel spreadsheets and never missed a chance to keep things organized-often with her own unique flair. In 2024, she was diagnosed with terminal cancer forcing her and Lanny to make the extremely difficult decision to leave Hayward.

Above all, she will be remembered as a strong, loving presence in the lives of those who knew her. She was a brave soul who fought valiantly throughout her journey. Her legacy lives on through her family, her stories, and the countless memories she created with those she loved. She will always be loved, deeply missed and forever remembered.

The family would like to thank the medical staff at the Marshfield Medical Center in Eau Claire, WI with a special thanks to her Oncologist Dr. Kareem Abdelhadi.
