Interment: will be held at a later date in Rest Haven Cemetery, Town of Washington, Wisconsin

 

Franklin C. Bartlett, age 80, of Eau Claire died on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Fall Creek Valley Care Center in Fall Creek.

Franklin was born on September 3, 1932 to the late Frank and Rachel (Kivi) Bartlett in Hibbing, Minnesota. Franklin graduated from high school in Alango, Minnesota and from Bemidji State College in Bemidji, Minnesota.

It was beautiful, sunny day on February 16, 1954, when Franklin married Elsie Hendricks in Two Harbors, Minnesota. Franklin and Elsie had two children, Holly and Todd. Franklin was a strong man of many talents and a tender heart. He was a devoted husband and father.

Early in his career he started out in the logging business. After that he went to college achieving a degree in instrument music, choir, and social studies. He taught for 27 years in the public school system. Later he owned a milk delivery business in Osseo before getting another degree to become a Licensed Practical Nurse as well as an Emergency Medical Technician.

Franklin was a man of many talents and interests. He enjoyed reading and learning new things. He enjoyed woodworking and carving. He enjoyed classical music and a good symphony orchestra.

The family wishes to thank the Fall Creek Valley Care Center for the wonderful care Franklin received. They were not just caregivers, they were Franklin's friends.

Franklin is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elsie;daughter, Holly (Tom) Kaeder of Ellsworth, WI;son, Todd (Leah) Bartlett of Eau Claire;grandchildren, Sherman, Christopher, Adam and Crystal;13 great grandchildren;sister-in-law, Katrina of Elko, Nevada;other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by brother, Noel.
