ANDERSON, Paul Rev. G., age 98

Died: Friday, August 17th, 2018

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 24, 2018 at Pinehurst Lutheran Church in Eau Claire with Reverend Paul Sullivan officiating

Visitation: one hour prior to the service at church

Interment:  His cremated remains will be buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Mankato, Minnesota 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Bethany Lutheran College, 700 Luther Drive Mankato, MN 56001

 

Rev. Paul G. Anderson, age 98, of Eau Claire died on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Grace Edgewood in Altoona.

Paul was born July 2, 1920 to the late Andrew and Bertha (Bervin) Anderson in Beaver Creek, MN. He was baptized on July 15, 1920 and confirmed in 1935 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Luverne, MN by Rev. L.P. Lund. Paul attended Bethany Lutheran College from 1938-1941. He graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO in 1945. Paul was ordained into the ministry and was very involved in the mission field. He served congregations in Fosston, MN; Nigeria British West Africa; Rochester, NY; Lime Creek and Lake Mills, IA; Belview, MN; West Bend, WI; Yelm, WA; and a retirement call in Eau Claire.

On March 2, 1946 Paul married Emily Jennie Gruebel in Jennings, Missouri. They were blessed with seven children. Emily died on October 24, 1996. Paul was then united in marriage with Vergie Collier on February 9, 2002.

Paul is survived by his wife, Vergie; children, Judith (Philip) Koestler, Eau Claire, Michael (Karen) Anderson, Mankato, MN, James (Brenda) Anderson, Hartford, WI, John Anderson, Yelm, WA, Karen (Keith) Heins, Menominee Falls, and Stephen (Julie) Anderson, Vancouver, WA; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily; daughter, Gail (Gary) Lillo; eight brothers and sisters.
