HANSON, Ronald D., age 83

Died: Friday, March 29th, 2019

A Committal Service with full Military Honors will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019  at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials be directed to the ALS Support Group, CVBC c/o Donna Meier, 531 E. South Avenue, Chippewa Falls, WI  54729.


Ronald Dale Hanson, age 83, of Eau Claire, died on Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in Chippewa Falls from ALS.

Ron was born on September 21, 1935 to the late Frank and Luella (LeDoux) Hanson in Duluth, Minnesota. Shortly following graduation from high school, Ron enlisted in the U.S. Army proudly serving our country. He was honorably discharged in 1958. On January 3, 1959, he married Gloria Norquist in Duluth.

For most of his life, Ron worked as a sales rep with Cutler Magner, moving to Eau Claire in 1989 to be closer to his routes. After retirement, he was one not to sit still so he began working for Saturn and later Kohls. Ron enjoyed bowling and singing with Barbershop quartets. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and love of telling funny stories.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Gloria; children, Beth (Al) Miller of Minneapolis, MN, Joe (Jill) Hanson of Proctor, MN, and Lynn (Mark) Gulbransen of Mayer, MN; grandchildren, Chris, Dale, Andrew, Joe, Krista, Trevor, Lexi, Samantha, John, and Adam; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Joanne Olson; brother, Frank (Karen) Hanson; brother-in-law, William Arras; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Arras; and brothers, Jim Hanson and Bill (Wanda) Doyle.
