Joann Laveda Kostka, age 72, of Port Washington, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2016 in Eau Claire, WI after a short battle with cancer.

Joann was born on April 27, 1944 in Manitowoc, WI, daughter of the late Clarence and Violet (Klein) Miller. On November 1, 1965 she married Wayne "Skies" Kostka in Manitowoc. The couple lived and raised their family in Sheboygan where she worked as a welder retiring from Mayline Company.

During her retirement, she loved spending time with her granddaughters - watching them play soccer, softball, basketball, dancing, acting, singing, or just simply hanging out. She was so proud of them all truly enjoying watching them grow up. In her free-time, she also enjoyed reading, playing cards, putting puzzles together and going for a cup of coffee while visiting with others.

Joann is survived by daughters, Tammy (Douglas) Mueller of Saukville, WI and Kathy (Shawn) Brei of Eau Claire; six precious granddaughters, Emily Brei of Sheboygan, Shelby and Rylee Brei of Eau Claire, Hannah, Ella, and Ava Mueller of Saukville; sisters and brother, Bonnie (Steve) Wetzel of Gillette, WI, Judy (Bob) Giesler of Coleman, WI, and John (Linda) Miller of Cleveland, WI; along with many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne "Skies" Kostka; son, Rusty Kostka; and mother- and father-in-law, Frank and Anne Kostka.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Dove Health West and the nurses of Heartland Hospice.
