Hollis "Holly" Alf, age 96, of Eau Claire died on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the Syverson Lutheran Home in Eau Claire with his wife of 47 years, Sadie, by his side.

Holly was born on July 5, 1919 to the late Julius and Esther (Schneller) Alf in Clear Creek, Wisconsin. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific Islands. Holly was a truck driver most of his life working for various trucking companies in California and Wisconsin. On April 14, 1968, he married Sadie E. Tanner in Las Vegas, NV. He enjoyed spending his off-time socializing with his wife, family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Sadie; sons, Larry and Barry Tanner; daughter, Kim (Jim) Pederson; grandchildren, Kayla, Shawna, Dezra, Brandon, Alex, and Rachel; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Elaine Olson and Floris Retzloff; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Holly was preceded in death by his son, William "Billy" and daughter, Kathy (their mother, Mary); sister, Lois Ney; and brother, Kenneth.
