Gary wished to be cremated and have no formal service. His cremains will be scattered at several special places.

 

Gary L. Nissalke, age 72, of Buffalo City, WI passed away on May 27, 2017 at the Syverson Home in Eau Claire due to complications of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

Gary was born on February 22, 1945 to the late Wesley and Vera (Bullene) Nissalke in Winona, Minnesota. Following graduation from Winona High School, he attended Winona State University receiving his B.S. in Psychology. He then graduated from U.W. LaCrosse earning his Master's Degree in School Psychology. Gary continued his education at the University of Minnesota studying Child Psychology and other areas of interest. In 1985, Gary became a licensed psychologist with offices in Winona, Owatonna and Rochester, MN. He also was a school psychologist in the Spring Lake, WI, Rockford, IL and Minneapolis, MN school districts. 

Living and boating on the Mississippi River was a great joy of Gary's. He was able to spend many hours hunting pheasants and ducks in several states. His great pride was breeding and training Golden Retrievers with his dogs winning many show awards. Gary was colon cancer survivor since 2006.

Gary is survived by his sister, Kae Lieberman of Eau Claire; brother, Alan (Kay) of Tampa, FL; son, Aaron of Seattle, WA; grandsons, Gabe and Jacob; nephew, Jeffry (Jen) Lieberman; niece, Paige Lieberman; many other nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
