George E. Schemerhorn

Memorial Service: 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Steven Rutter officiating

Visitation: family will receive friends a half hour prior to service

A private interment will be held at a later date

George E. Schemerhorn, age 84, of Eau Claire died on Monday, July 20, 2015 at the Clairemont Nursing and Rehabilitation in Eau Claire, with loved ones by his side.

George was born on October 20, 1930 to the late William and Sylvia (Kendall) Schemerhorn in Lawrenceville, IL. He was a career serviceman retiring from the U.S. Airforce as Master SGT after 26 years of service and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 305. George loved to go camping and take long rides on the pontoon.

He is survived by his daughters, Denise Schemerhorn of Jacksonville, FL and Michelle (Paul) Holt of Columbus, SC; grandchildren, Michael, Phillip, Bryan, Diane, Paul Jr., Steffan, Richard, Jennifer, Cheryl, and Melissa; and several great grandchildren.

He is also survived by his companion of 28 years, Laura Simonson; and her children, Jeff Simonson, Becky (Dan) Gunderson, Monica (Scott) Palecek, and Richard (Kris) Simonson and their children, Renee, Tony, Andy, Kayla, Michael, Jon, Molly, Maygen; many other relatives and friends.

George was preceded in death by his daughter, Georgeann Miller; brother, Paul Schemerhorn; and half-brother, Keith Tally.
