Memorial Mass: 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Donald Meuret officiating

Visitation: family will receive friends one hour prior to Mass at church

Interment: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Rock Falls at a later date

In lieu of flowers, it was Jame's wish for donations be made to the Humane Association or to a charity of your choice

 

James "JT" R. Tomashek, age 88, of Eau Claire passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 with his loving wife by his side.

Jim was born on August 9, 1926 to the late Lewis and Mary (Marasek) Tomashek in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He proudly served our country during WWII in the U.S. Navy receiving the Victory Medal, American Area Campaign Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal. On November 11, 1961, he married Joyce Eul at St. Sylvester's Church in Chicago. He graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology and worked many years for Borg Warner Corp. as an Electrical Engineer.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce; nieces, Anita Tomashek, Kathleen Barrett, and Eileen (Jim) Mitchell; other relatives and friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lewis (Marie) Tomashek; sisters, Sr. Claire Tomashek, Mary Cermak, and Gertrude (Dick) Barrett.
