William C. St. Aubin, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Care Partners - Lindeman House in Eau Claire.

He was born to the late Arthur and Nora (Fasbender) St. Aubin in the town of Cleveland, near Jim Falls in Chippewa County. On July 26, 1950, he married Esther Webb in Pine City, Minnesota.

Bill could fix or build anything. He served in the Korean Conflict as Technical Sergeant of the motor pool at the front lines and was a lifelong member of VFW Post 305 in Eau Claire. He started and operated three businesses:  3rd Street Shell in 1955, Bill's 66 Service Station on Bellinger Street in 1958, and in 1980, Bill's Auto Sales, Inc. in Hallie. Bill's passion was buying and selling cars. He's probably towing a big new boat behind a Cadillac in heaven right now with his brother, Clyde, riding shotgun.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons, grandchildren, brothers, and other relatives and friends on his home farm and in northern Wisconsin, South Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Esther; children, Glen (Connie), Laurie (J.B.) Whelihan, Mark (Mary Jo), Tim (Simone), and Jon (Dianne); grandchildren: Jill (fiancé Michael Fluto), Meghan (Sean) Dolan, Lee, and Emily (fiancé Brandon Wuebben); brother, Dennis (Ruth Ann); sister; Jeanne (Guy) Crosby; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clyde and Fred; sisters, Emma Petska, Audrey Kowalewski, Lucille Leavens, Louise Rubenzer Hebert, Ione Goettl, and Laura Hoel.

The family would also like to thank all the staff at Care Partners - Lindeman House and St. Josephs Hospice for their wonderful care.
