Gerald "Jerry" A. Lee, age 90, of Eau Claire died on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at his home with family by his side.

Jerry was born on July 16, 1928 to the late Chester and Helen (Cameron) Lee in Minneapolis. He proudly served our county in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant in the Korean War. Following his service, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. On September 22, 1951 he married, Donna Odegard at Faith Lutheran Church in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Throughout his life, Jerry was a gifted athlete and avid sports fan. He played baseball, football, golf, and was pitcher for fast-pitch softball. Jerry enjoyed ice skating, cross-country skiing, bowling, playing cards and cheering on the Packers. Other hobbies of his included coin collecting and genealogy - having tracked his family history back to Norway, Jerry's ancestors eventually moved 8 family members to Buffalo County, WI in 1848.

Lee, GeraldA career in Industrial Engineering was most satisfying to Jerry who worked over 40 years as a Production Control Manger in Manufacturing. He started his career in Minneapolis, MN with Donaldson Company, Inc. and was transferred to help set up a new manufacturing facility in Chillicothe, Mo. in 1958.  In each city that Jerry and his family lived he made friends easily and was always eager to lend a helping hand. He and his wife, Donna moved to the Eau Claire area in the early 1980's where they attended Bethesda Lutheran Church. After Jerry retired, they decided to stay in Eau Claire as they had many friends and family members who lived nearby.

Jerry was a very civic minded man serving on many boards, active in the Lions Club and Elks, and both he and Donna volunteered with Meals on Wheels for 10 years. He was also a financial counselor for the UW Extension Center in Altoona upon his retirement.

He is survived by the light of his life for 66 years, Donna; children, Terry Lee, Eau Claire WI, Jeffrey (Maria) Lee, Monroe, CT and Randal Lee, Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Matthew (Theresa) Lee, Cristina Lee, Daniel (Meghan) Lee, Nathan Lee, Cameron Lee; great grandchildren, Michael Lee, Catherine Lee and Elin Lee; brother, Jack (Gisela) Lee; sister, Cynthia Moir (Ken Green); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn King.

The family would like to thank the staff of Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Jerry.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
