HOLT, Bernice M., age 96

Died: Thursday, May 25th, 2017

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Hope Lutheran Church (on the corner of Eddy Lane and Starr Ave) with the Reverend Rick Lund officiating

Visitation: 1 hour prior to service at church

Interment: St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Eau Claire, Wisconsin

In lieu of flowers/plants, the family requests memorials be given to Hope Lutheran Church.

 

Bernice M. Holt, age 96, of Eau Claire died Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Dove Healthcare - West.

Bernice was born on February 9, 1921 to the late Alvin and Caroline (Peterson) Hanson in Churches Ferry, North Dakota. When a young child, she moved with her family to Osseo, Wisconsin where she grew up, went to school and was confirmed. On November 1, 1941, she was united in marriage to Ralph Holt at Central Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls. Bernice's life revolved around her family whom she loved dearly. Her role of "homemaker" was her passion in life as she loved to bake for her family. For 30 years, she was a member of a 500 Card Club hosted her north side home with neighbors and friends. She also enjoyed camping with her husband, family and friends for many good years. Bernice was a charter member of Hope Lutheran Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and may God bless her memory.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Tom) Emberts of Eau Claire;

grandchildren, Bryan (Melissa) Emberts of Sussex, WI and Lori Heath of Eau Claire;

great grandchildren, Jesse and Ashley Heath, Zachary Emberts, Talisa (Chris) Kupfer and Hannah Emberts;

brother, Arnold Hanson of Plymouth, MN;

sister, Eleanor Christianson of Eau Claire;

sister-in-law, Mary Hanson of Eau Claire;

many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ralph; son, Jeffrey; daughter, Joanne Holt; brothers, Victor Hanson, Norman (Vera) Hanson and Glenn Odin (who died in infancy); and brother-in-law, Linward Christianson.
