Margaret was born on April 15, 1916 to the late Lewis and Cora (Steadman) Ferguson in Leesville, South Carolina. Her parents died when Margaret was young and she was raised by her Aunt and Uncle, Bertha and Earl Steadman, in St. Paul, MN. On March 31, 1941, she married Clarence Jacobson in Decorah, Iowa. She was employed at the Normandy Café, Metropolitan Dime Store and National Presto Industries. Margaret loved her family, enjoyed baking, crafts, travel, her church and was famous for her lefse making skills and her raisin-filled cookies.

She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Williams of Urbana, Il, Cindy Westphal and Mary (Ron) Hadt both of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Brian (Jeannie) Westphal of Eau Claire and Ben (Julia) Westphal of Pewaukee, WI; step-grandsons, Ryan Hadt of Lisle, IL and Jason Andrews of Eau Claire; great grandchildren, Rachel, Alexandra, Gabriella, and Casey Westphal; step great-grandchildren,  Derek and Allyson Frederick, Damon Hazelton, and Spenser Andrews; other family members and friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; sisters, Anita Ferguson and Cleo Hansen; brother, Furman Ferguson; aunt and uncle, Bertha and Earl Steadman; son-in-law, Bill Westphal.

Her family would like to thank the staff of Dove Healthcare West for their care; her roommate, Bernice Holt, and her many friends she made and cherished throughout her long and faithful life.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
