Interment: Rest Haven Cemetery, Town of Washington, Wisconsin

Lorraine L. Miescke, age 96, of Altoona went home to her Heavenly Father on Monday, June 30, 2014 at Country Terrace Assisted Living in Altoona.

Lorraine was born on July 8, 1917 to the late Gustav and Clara (Dehnke) Messerschmidt in Fall Creek, Wisconsin. In 1935, she graduated from Fall Creek High School. On October 21, 1939, she married Frederick "Bill" Miescke in Augusta. For many years, she and Bill owned and operated several grocery stores. She was an avid walker, even into her 70s, being proud to say "I walked half way around the world." She was a long time member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She loved her son, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and the Lord.

Lorraine is survived by her son, Frederick "Rick" (Donna) of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Rick (Kendra) of Baraboo and Raeann (BJ) Rauckman of Eau Claire; great grandchildren, Bryce of Milwaukee, Amara of Baraboo, Nicole and Chase both of Eau Claire; nieces, nephews, other relatives; and her special friend, Luann Hintz.

She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Juel, Carl, and Marvin; and sister, Alma Schiefelbein.
