BARNESON, Marvin W., age 84

Died: Wednesday, October 7th, 2015

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1804 Highland Avenue in Eau Claire with Reverend Christine Emerson officiating

Visitation: Monday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and also 1 hour prior to service at church

Interment: St. John's Cemetery, Eau Claire, Wisconsin

Marvin W. Barneson, age 84, of the Town of Clear Creek, WI was reborn on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 ~ "Thy will be done."

Marvin was born on January 10, 1931 to the late Albert & Edna (Behlke) Barneson on the original and current Barneson farm home site established in1928 in the Town of Clear Creek. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church also in the Town of Clear Creek. On September 26, 1959, Marvin married Ruth Helen Schreiber - his bride of unconditional love, care and support through 56 years; vows accepted and completed.

He was a "Tiller of the Soil" farmer, gardener, custom operator and a Pioneer of his era. Marvin and Ruth's Pre/Post Retirement was completed as vendors through the Eau Claire Farmers Market under "Marvin's Gardens" with support of their companion, Daisy Dog.

He had supporting roles in business and government through Foster Coop Creamery, as Director of Eau Claire Energy Coop (33 years), WECA State Wide Director (15 years), Town Chairman for Town of Clear Creek (10 years), Eau Claire County Board of Supervisors, and as a Church Council Member of St. John's Lutheran, Eau Claire (6 years).

Marvin was a voice member of St. John's Choir for 40+ years.  He felt it a genuine privilege & honor to participate as he found peace & comfort through music. Music continued within the home through his lasting senior years.

Marvin's journey was completed at the original farm home site with the support of Mayo Clinic Health Systems - Eau Claire, St. Joseph's Hospice, and gracious neighbors & family.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Ruth; sons, Thomas (Ginger) Barneson of Elk Mound and Greg (Deann) Barneson (granddogs, Puddy, Ivy & Ruby) of Monticello, IA; son-in-law, Ken Nelson of Eau Claire; granddaughter, Samantha (Josh) Prissel of Durand; great grandson, Brycin Prissel; brother, Harold (Donna) Barneson of Eau Claire; brother-in-law, Eldor Henning of Fall Creek; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kim Nelson (First Responder, EMT & Musical Voice of Precious Joy); three infant brothers; an infant sister; and sister, Dorothy Henning.
