ENERSON, Margaret V., age 92

Died: Saturday, September 6th, 2014

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the funeral home with Reverend Rick Lund officiating

Visitation: 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Thursday

Interment: Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire, Wisconsin

 

Margaret V. Enerson, age 92, of Eau Claire died on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Heatherwood Assisted Living in Eau Claire.

Margaret was born on April 7, 1922 to the late John and Ida (Stockness) McIlquham in the Town of Wheaton, Chippewa County.  She attended local schools graduating in 1939 from Chippewa Falls High School.  Following graduation, she attended E.C. Teachers College and E.C. Business College receiving certification in Secretarial and Bookkeeping training.

During the war, Margaret was employed by the U.S. Corps of Engineers in Eau Claire and later was transferred to Wright Field in Dayton, Ohio, where she worked until 1944.  On May 27, 1944, she married Donald Enerson in Chippewa Falls. When Don began his masonry business, she was appointed Secretary of the Corporation, working in that capacity for over 30 years.

She was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church serving on a number of boards, as well as Sunday School Superintendant and Teacher. She was past president of the Women of Hope and a long time member of the Charity Circle cherishing her association  with this wonderful group of women and the studies they undertook.  Over the years she took advantage of many adult bible study opportunities offered at Hope Lutheran.  In 1964, Margaret joined the Eau Claire Woman's Club where she served as president and in various other positions including singing with the Woman's Club Chorus. 

Margaret was fond of golfing, playing in a number of leagues at Lowes Creek and also Line Dancing at the Senior Center, participating with the Showtime Group.  Margaret also enjoyed playing cards and was active in many Bridge Clubs.  She and Don were gracious hosts at both their cottage on Island Lake and at their home on Lake Altoona.

Margaret has been living at Heatherwood Assisted Living for the past few years.

She is survived by her son, Mike; grandchildren, Michele (Sheldon) Hazen, Don (Kem); great grandchildren, Jake, Jessie and Anna Hazen; other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; son, Mark; sisters, Elizabeth and Lucille.
