Lucille was born on March 20, 1918, to the late Frank and Sophia (Caturia) Holmstadt in Waterville Township in Pepin County. Lucille grew up in the Plum City/Arkansas, WI area.  Following high school, she moved to Eau Claire where she met Harry, the love of her life. They were married in Eau Claire and spent the rest of their lives in the Eau Claire area. After raising four children, she worked at various places including a nursing home, dental office, department store and a bank.

She will be deeply missed by her sister, Lorraine (Bernard) Brenner; sons, Richard (Doris), Steven (Linda); daughter, Nancy (Larry) Burrows; son-in-law, R. Steven Cardinal; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and 43 nieces and nephews. She is further survived by many other dear friends, including her special friend, Lee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; daughter, Joanne Cardinal; brothers, Clarence, Paul, Beryl, and Galen Holmstadt; and sister, Marcella Smith.

Lucille will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but will be always lovingly remembered for her even disposition, common sense, positive attitude, and good humor.  Lucille's family was the most important to her and she was very proud of them.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
