Graveside Service: Monday, October 14, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in Java, South Dakota

Sophie V. Larson, age 88, of Eau Claire died peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at her home.

Sophie was born on May 27, 1925 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where she was adopted by the late Henry and Magdalena (Himmerich) Vaagen. She was raised in Lemmon and Aberdeen South Dakota, but spent most of her adult life in Omaha, NE. In 2000, she moved to Eau Claire to be closer to family. She loved to dine out, especially with her group of friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Becky (David) Gunthert of Altoona, Rita Gibson of Bellefountaine, Ohio; grandchildren, Christopher (Amy), Andrew (Chelsea), Kelly, Kyle, Kerry, and Kasey; great grandchildren, Joven, Bella, Mason, Ashlee, Desiree, Codi, and Emma; great, great, grandchildren, Trystyn, Bravyn, Landyn, and Jai Lynn; special friends, Alta Bragg and Susan Felber; many other family and friends.

Sophie was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Larson.
