Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Salem Lutheran Church in Shell Lake (803 - 2nd St. N.) with Reverend Arvid Sundet officiating

Interment: will be held at a later date

Paul W. Homes, age 84, of Rice Lake (formerly of Eau Claire and Shell Lake) died on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems Northland-Barrron.

Paul was born on July 29, 1928 to the late Thomas F. and Ruth A. (Ripper) Homes in Iron Mountain, Michigan. On September 16, 1950 he married Nora Peterson. For 41 years he worked as an optician with Benson Optical. Paul was a 50 year member of the Masons and an avid Packer fan.  He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nora; sons, Thomas and Timothy (Karen);grandson, Matthew and fiancé, Hollie; granddaughter, Jessica; other relatives and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his sister, Grace Person, and daughter-in-law, Shannon.
