HANSON, Victor A., age 89

A private graveside service was held at Rest Haven Cemetery with the Reverend John Mann officiating and military honors provided by V.F.W. Post 305

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hope Lutheran Church's mortgage reduction fund

 

Victor A. Hanson, age 89, of Eau Claire died on Monday, April 8, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Eau Claire.

Victor was born on October 26, 1923 to the late Alvin and Caroline (Peterson) Hanson in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during WWII achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He received the Expert in Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star. On July 28, 1951, Victor married Mary Louise Hanson at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. In his earlier years, he worked at Presto Industries and the Cameo Room. After 33 years of service, Victor retired from production management with Uniroyal in October 1988. He was a life member of VFW Post 305 and long time member of Hope Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary; sons, Marc V. (Mary) of Maple Grove, MN, Brian P. (Maria) of Ferndale, WA, and Lee A. of Eau Claire; daughter, Sandra Cox Stratton of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Karen, Michelle, Katie, Samantha and Ian; sisters and brother, Bernice Holt of Eau Claire, Eleanor Christianson of Eau Claire, and Pastor Arnold Hanson of Tucson, AZ; sister-in- law, Vera Hanson of Elk Mound; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
