Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday

Interment: Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire, Wisconsin

LaVerne O. Miller, age 93, of Eau Claire passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Mayo Health System Eau Claire.

LaVerne was born on January 1, 1921 to the late Obert and Laura (Annis) Miller in Eau Claire. On February 6, 1949 he married Betty Jean Dickson at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. LaVerne proudly served our country during WWII in the U.S. Army. For many years he was an active member of the Eau Claire Male Chorus, Chippewa Valley Gospel Choir, and the Noon Exchange Club. He worked 33 years for the City of Eau Claire becoming City Engineer in 1967 and retiring in 1985.

LaVerne lived the last two years at Our House Assisted Living. His family would like to thank the staff and volunteers for their wonderful care.

He is survived by his children, Kathleen (Ron) Mayer of Eau Claire and Steven (Mary) Miller of Norwalk, WI; step-son, William (Sandy) Sparley of Tennessee; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

LaVerne was preceded in death by his wife, Betty and brother, Earl.
