Jerry M. Evans, age 79, of Eau Claire passed away in the loving arms of his wife on Friday, September 26, 2014 at his home.

Jerry was born on September 13, 1935 to the late Clifton and Sophie (Tollison) Evans in Red Wing, Minnesota. Growing up, he was more than just a brother, becoming the caregiver of his family after the passing of his father. In his younger years, he was an avid racer of motorcycles, dirt bikes, and go carts winning many awards.

He was one of the original co-owners and operators of Sport Motors in Eau Claire with Jack Adler. Throughout his life, Jerry was a truck driver, sheet metal worker and teacher, a great wheeler and dealer, and he always "knew a guy" when you needed help. Jerry loved cheering on the Packers, watching NASCAR, going to swap meets, and spending time fishing, and being with his grandkids and cats. He and Kathy were able to escape the detested Wisconsin winters nine times to Arizona. He was a true, loving family man who will be greatly missed.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Susan (Scott) Rozeboom of Rock Valley, IA, Michael (Aina) of Little Canada, MN, and Patricia (Will) Becker of Stoughton, WI and their mother, Lorraine Evans; grandchildren, Stephanie (Blake) Groeneweg, Ryan Rozeboom both of Rock Valley, IA, Lisa (fiancé, Stephan Edwards) Evans of Evanston, IL, and Sita Evans of Little Canada, MN; great grandchildren, Braedyn and Cambry; step children, Shannon (Jefry) Klein of Fleming Island, FL, Leslie Jaquish, Amanda Lyke both of Eau Claire, and Kena (Carlos) Montegomery of Gulf Port, MS; step son-in-law, Todd Jaquish of Eau Claire; 9 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; sisters, Vivian (Paul) Mohr, Lolly DeRusha, Donnie Bock, and Pam (Tom) Hagen; brothers, Tom (Connie) and John (Linda) Evans; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
