Corinne "Connie" L. Simonson, age 78 of Eau Claire, passed from this world to be joined with her Lord on Monday, May 30, 2016 with family by her side.

"Corn" as she was known to be called by family and friends was born on July 5, 1937 to the late Harry and Evelyn (Russell) Foster in Eau Claire. She was baptized at First Baptist Church graduated from Eau Claire High School. She was joined in marriage to Donald Simonson and were later divorced. They were blessed with two sons, Steven and David. In the early years of her marriage, they resided in California and for a short time on the east coast of Florida while Don was active in the U.S. Navy. They then made their residence in Lakeland, MN for many years. Connie also lived in Hudson, WI and currently in Eau Claire to be closer to family and friends. She was employed for many years as a bus driver for the River Falls School District and for Seeley Plastics until the time of her retirement.

Connie spoke often of her trip to Alaska to visit her son, Steve, and enjoyed watching any television show that depicted the life style of the Alaskan way. She loved summer trips to Canada with family and the many joyous weekends at the "cabin" in Birchwood where fun was had by all.

She had a special fondness and love for animals with some special friends being Effie, Bowser, Sam, Pugs, and Rosie who looked forward to pigears whenever she visited, along with feeding and watching her birds all year long.

Connie will always be remembered for her easy going personality, kindness, and willingness to help others, ability to "spoil" all the children in the family, the joy of picking berries, and her strong Christian faith. She will be greatly missed by family and friends who loved her dearly. "You made it across the white bridge, Corn!!"

Connie is survived by her son, David Simonson of Eau Claire; sister, Kathleen Evans; brother, James (Kathy) Foster; nieces, Shannon Klein, Leslie Jaquish, Amanda Lyke, Kena Montgomery; nephew, Ryan Foster; great nieces and nephews, Eric Jaquish, Samantha (Cody) Stanton , Paige Jaquish, Kyle Schuh, Joey and Jefry Klein, Nelson Remington, Charlie and Chase Montgomery, Weston and Jase Foster; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Steven; brother-in-law, Jerry; and many aunts and uncles.
