David A. Nanstad, D.C., age 59, was born September 7, 1957 in Stanley, WI to Allan and Phyllis (Molstad) Nanstad; he passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire.

The birth and death of this great man, however, is not nearly as relevant as all the days and nights that he lived to the fullest between those two dates.

David's lifelong dream quickly became apparent at a young age during his first visit to a Chiropractor following a high school sports injury. Upon his graduation from Memorial High School in 1975, he went on to receive his undergraduate degree from UW-Eau Claire and later his Doctorate from the Palmer College of Chiropractic, graduating with honors. He married Debra Hakes (Kesting) and they had 2 children, Kristina & Erik. In 2005, he married his loving wife, Teresa (Granny), in Las Vegas. David has been a chiropractor in the Eau Claire area for 36 years where he immensely loved his patients forming many long-term friendships. His passions included: hunting, camping, dogs - Molly & Jasper, softball, Packers, Badgers, Blugolds, EC Express, Big Brothers, Mexico, fish fry's, and scotcheroos - not necessarily in that order. Even more so, he adored being Papa to his five (soon to be six) grandchildren.

David was a fighter who continued to beat the odds. He was the man of 1,000 lives who stayed positive, never complained, and continued to live life to the fullest. As a Type I Diabetic for many years, he was blessed by two angels on earth with kidney transplants from his brother Tom & friend, Judy Jaskowski. All who knew Dave will miss his sense of humor and quirky ways!

He is survived by his wife, Teresa; daughter, Kristina (Jonas) Walters; son, Erik; step-children, Natasha Henning and Chad Mousel; mother, Phyllis and step-father, John Prince; in-laws, Larry and Sharon Henning; brother, Tom (JoAnn); sister, Diane; grandchildren, Emma, Gracie, Morgan, Layne, Audrey, & future baby due on their 12th wedding anniversary (12/26); niece & nephews, Mallory, Tyler, & JD; and numerous other relatives, friends & patients.

David was preceded in death by his father, Allan; mother-in-law, Clover; late wife, Linda; and step-daughter, Niccole.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
