De Etta R. Simons, age 83, of Eau Claire died on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at her home under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice.

De Etta was born on March 6, 1932 to Floyd and Gertrude (Erickson) Anderberg in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It was there that De Etta met the love of her life, William "Bill" Simons, at a ballroom and they were married in 1953. In 1958, Bill started working at the Department of Transportation as a Civil Engineer; a job that moved them to Altoona, Wisconsin. De Etta was a stay-at-home mom raising their 4 children until Bill's death in 1975. She then began working as a teller with First National Bank in Eau Claire (a.k.a. Norwest Bank); retiring 35 years later under the name of Wells Fargo Bank. During her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. De Etta was a loving wife, wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother and friend to many.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Steven, Cheryl, Mark, and Brad; grandchildren, Stephanie (Thomas), William "Billy", Christopher, and Sarah (Jonathan); great grandchildren, Jesse, Bailey, Kodiak, and Autumn; sister, Evelyn McFarlane; many nieces nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is now joined in death with her parents; husband, Bill; and brother, LeRoy "Andy" Anderberg.

The family is very grateful for all the help and support from the doctors, nurses, and other staff at Sacred Heart Hospital and also to St. Joseph's Hospice.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
