Betty J. Fiore, 88 years of age, of Eau Claire was called home on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Dove Healthcare - West in Eau Claire.

Betty was born on February 15, 1925 to the late Elmer and Edith (Nichols) Kaufman. After high school graduation she was able to do some traveling; working at one point in Atlantic City during the war. One of her travels brought her to Chicago where she met the love of her life, James Fiore. After marriage, they moved to Eau Claire and raised their six children. Her passion was her family, love of life, and if you knew her - the Joy of Traveling. Through the years she provided her children with the gift of travel and we will be forever grateful.

The love that she had for her Lord and Savior was not shared in words, but it was shown by how she lived her life: her gentle spirit and caring ways.

She is survived by her children, Dennis, Ronald (Jan), Michael (Margaret), Sharon (Carroll) Slaughter, Jim (Dee), Greg (Terie); her beautiful grandchildren, Dana, Demian, Danielle, Danta, Jason, Chad, Tammy, Travis, Brian, Michelle, Jason S., Jennifer, Benjamin, Samantha, Simone, Calie, and Lucas; 30 great grandchildren; brothers, Elroy, Chester (Pat) and Skip (Marie) Kaufman; brother-in-law, Richard (Bobbi) Gabus; sister-in-law, Carmella Craig; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James; daughter-in-law, Connie; and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law.

The family would like to express their thankfulness to Dr. Mark Edstrom, the staff at Luther/Mayo and Dove Healthcare West for their care provided to our mother.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
