Visitation: two hours prior to service at church

Interment: Brooklawn Cemetery, Marshfield, Wisconsin

Memorials may be designated in her name to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Eau Claire or to the James Olson Scholarship Fund Mid-State Technical College in Marshfield, WI

Audrey F. Olson, age 89, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. 

Audrey was born May 30, 1928 at Toivola, Minnesota, daughter of Edward and Sylvia (Stenback) Edstrom. She graduated from high school in Toivola in 1946 and went on to become an RN graduating from Hibbing General Hospital in 1949. She worked at Winona General in Whitehall, Wisconsin and then finished her career in nursing after working 20 years with the Marshfield Living Rehabilitation Center in Marshfield, WI.

On August 13, 1949, she married James Walter Olson. They moved to Winona, MN, Trempealeau, Whitehall and lastly to Marshfield, WI in 1968. They celebrated their 50^th anniversary in 1999 in Marshfield. She moved to Eau Claire in 2005. 

Audrey loved all her children, their spouses, and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and reading. She was active in the Ladies Aid and Altar Guild at Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield where she was a member prior to attending Immanuel Lutheran Church. At Immanuel, she welcomed the fellowship of the Ruth Circle and Material Witness Quilting group.

She is survived by her children, David (Linda) Olson of Indianapolis, IN, Dianne Olson (Tim O'Grady) of Fox Lake, IL, Gary (Darcie) Olson - children, Briana (Jim) Wilson, Amy and Kellan of Milton WI, Carol (Sam) Jonas - children, Leah and Jacob of Centennial, CO, Donald (Cheryl) Olson - children, Jennifer (Ryan) Sanford, Travis (Amy), Amanda (Cory) Bass, Melissa (Todd) Jensen, and Matt (Emily) of Centerville, MN, Dr. Douglas (Kelly) Olson - children, James, Erica and Lukas of Eau Claire, WI, John (Kim) Olson - children, Hailee, Owen, Olivia, Cooper and Cameron of Monroe, WI, and Brian (Janet) Olson - children, Gabrielle and Shelby of New Brighton, MN.

Audrey is further survived by her 17 great grandchildren, Jacob and Sammy Kleingarner of Indianapolis, IN, Evan, Kyle and McKenna Sanford of South St. Paul, MN, Madi, Kaylee, Lucy, and Max Olson of Hugo, MN, Braden, Kira and Macy Wilson of Minnetonka, MN, Lily, Tenley and Greyson Bass of Andover, MN, Khloe and Alexis Jensen of Rogers, MN; her brother, Clifford (Dorothy) Edstrom of Pine Island, MN; and her sister, Doris Lafreniere of Hibbing, MN.

Audrey was preceded in death by her life-long husband, James, who died in 2003; her parents; sister, Irene Elizabeth, who died in 1936; brother, Kenneth, who died in 2012; and great grandson, Jack Sanford, who died in 2004.
