Ervin "Erv" F. Schmidt, age 89, of Eau Claire passed away and joined his heavenly Savior on Friday, March, 31, 2017.

Erv was born in Poskin, WI on August 13, 1927, the sixth child of George and Sarah Schmidt. He was raised in Poskin Lake, served in the US Navy, and moved to Barron after his marriage to Evelyn Margery "Marge" Anderson on September 15, 1951. Erv and Marge began their family in Chippewa Falls and then moved to Eau Claire in 1957 where they raised their seven children. Erv worked in the Eau Claire area primarily as a Finance Manager for many years, was a member of and volunteered at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, and volunteered at Luther Hospital for 21 years.

He is survived by his children, Candice (Clay) Simpson, Cheryl (Keith) Kamba, Tamara (Jeff) Weller, Jennifer (Tom) Potter, and Lisa (Eric) Rydland; daughter-in-law, Susan Schmidt; and son-in-law, Larry (Jennine) Szwalkiewicz.  He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Erv was preceded in death by his wife, Marge; oldest daughter, Roxanne; only son, Gregory; his parents; and his six siblings.
