Alice M. Pingel, age 82, of Eau Claire, passed on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at The Classics Memory Care Facility in Altoona.

Alice was born on December 27, 1934 in Fairchild, Wisconsin to the late Otis and Zelma (Miller) Larson. On July 27, 1957 she married the love of her life, Rudolph F. Pingel, Jr., at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fairchild. During her life, she worked for Presto Industries, the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire and for Medical X-ray Consultants. Alice was very active in the Ladies VFW Post 305 Auxiliary, the Elks and was a major organizer of Par-te-rec for 25 years.

Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling. Even more so in her retirement years, going all over the United States as well oversees to London, Paris and Italy (to name a few) along with a cruise to Hawaii.

Alice thoroughly loved being with her family and was their cheerleader through all aspects of their lives especially sports - for both her children and grandchildren. She was a special lady and will be deeply missed.

Alice is survived by her son, Craig (Michelle); daughter, Dawn Pingel; grandchildren, Michael (Miranda), Stephanie (Blake), Hailey, Kiefer, and Danielle; great grandchildren, Easton and Brynlee; brother, James (Marilyn) Larson; sister-in-law, Karen Larson all of Eau Claire; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy; brothers, William and Allan (Iris) Larson.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
